Public Comment for Agenda Items There were: no public comments. Approval of Minutes Commissioner Boozel seconded. Mr. Pugh made ai motion to approve the minutes from the September 21, 2023 meeting. In favor: Opposed: Abstentions 0 5 0 Mental Health Report Ms. Rettig gave an update on the CIT (Crisis Intervention Team) trainings. She gave a summary of the Community Support Program' 's Operation Reindeer inl December. Ms. Rettig announced there will be a' Wellness Walk in May and a Speaker Jam in June. Ms. Rettig reported the Suicide Coalition recently distributed more suicide prevention bookmarks to the libraries in the county. They are currently working with our Drug & Alcohol stafft to create coasters to take to Rachel's Roadhouse, their Facebook page is reaching over 10,000 people, they do monthly table displays, and they are doing QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) trainings quarterly. Amy Cirelli was asked tol be a guest speaker on the! local podcast "Alter Eagle" tot talk about suicide prevention. Ms. Wearing reported thel Early Intervention numbers for November and December 2023, and Early Intervention Report January 2024. 1 MHEIID Advisory Board! Meeting February 15,2024 Inl November there was ai total of4 489 children; 36 oft those were: in tracking and 453 were active In December the total number of children was 496; 39 werei in tracking and 457 with active In. January the total number of children was 495; there were 40 int tracking and 455 with active Ms. Wearing announced that we added two new. Early Intervention providers at the beginning of this year. We contracted with the Children'sl Home of] Pittsburgh to provide services, and with Pediatric Therapy Source, an independent evaluator for initial and annual evaluations. Shei reported the majority of our Early Intervention providers are participating in an EI rate study project tol look at current rates to determine ifar rate refresh is needed for that program. Ms. Wearing announced Early Learning Connections was awarded the RRT (Rapid Response Team) grant to assist families and early childhood education entities tol help avoid suspension Our Butler EI Team is scheduled to meet with the EI advisor and Early Intervention Technical with plans. There were 43 referrals. plans. There were. 55 referrals. plans. and expulsion due to behavioral concerns. Assistance representative in March to draft our Quality Enhancement Plan. Intellectual Disabilities Report Ms. Wearing provided copies oft the Winter 2024 newsletter; The Vision' for the Board. She Ms. Wearing gave a summary of previous events including the annual Christmas party that was held in December. She announced that we have already reserved the Vagabond Center for the She reported Legacy Fitness adapted exercise classes have continued every month since October and they are currently partnering with BC3 for an adaptive physical education program. Ms. Wearing announced that Ellen Nelson, our newest ID Specialist, began in October and has been a wonderful compliment to our department. It has allowed the department to better manage Ms. Wearing announced Butler was awarded 28 new waiver slots: twenty-one Community Living Waivers and seven consolidated waivers. These increases will help us to support up to 56 additional people. Our wait list is currently at 32 individuals and this will reduce our wait list but gave an overview oft the articles, events and activities. 2024 Christmas party. thei influx ofneeds and the expansion of the program. not eliminate it completely based on the need for waiver types. Fiscal Report Mr. Achezinski reviewed the fiscal report which was through December 31, 2023. 2 MHEIID Advisory Board! Meeting February 15,2024 New Business MH/EI/ID Administrator Report mental health, and funding for schools. Mr. Savochka gave an overview oft the governor's proposed budget for intellectual disabilities, Mr. Savochka gave an update on the Warming Center. Currently about 12 to 15 people stay there each night. There is a housing case manager at the warming center every morning and every individual is asked ift they want help getting permanent supportive housing. So far wel have had seven individuals this season get connected with permanent housing from the warming center. Families are. housed at the YWCA. Catholic Charities has been doing a great job of getting Mr. Savochka explained reinvestment dollars and how they are: reinvested back into the community. Ways that we determine how to use: reinvestment money include gathering input at CSP meetings, Block Grant planning meetings, support groups, and SAP meetings with the schools. Some of thej programs that have been funded by reinvestment include the LTSR, North Street transitional housing, the children's partial program. We have utilized reinvestment money top purchase more. houses for permanent supportive housing. The Recovery Center was purchased with reinvestment dollars and opioid settlement dollars. We also used reinvestment money for the inpatient drug and alcohol ward at Independence Health (Butler Memorial Hospital), and as a member of Southwest Six we are working with Indiana Regional Medical Center to expand their families connected to housing. inpatient mental health unit. Hei reported that a de-escalation presentation was given at the Grapevine. Board Reappointment Mr. Szura asked the Board for approval oft the re-appointment ofl Ms. Shirley Warburton for another three-year term on the Board.
