Roll Call: President Bianchi - present Mr. Estocin = present Ms. Henkel - present Mr. Nolan = present Solicitor - present Mr. Sanker - present Mr. Spencer = present Mr. King - present Mayor Forgie = absent Approval of the June 2024 minutes: Motion Ms. Henkel, Mr. Estocin approving the June 2024 minutes as submitted. Motion carried. correspondence: None Citizens Report: Chris Marino-1451 Chestnut Street-Some one on Chestnut Street is operating an Auto Body Shop. The work is being done on the street. Reported that cars are using Chestnut Street as Council stated that the address will be given to the COG for them to a cut thru and they are speeding. investigate. Committee Reports: Mr. Bianchi- A new laundry mat in the Penn Plaza is asking this Council to approve Resolution #720-24 Sewer tap-in. Motion Mr. Spencer, Ms. Henkel approving Resolution #720-24 Laundry Mat sewer tap in. Motion carried. Page 3 Ms. Henkel- None Mr. King-The Turtle Creek Watershed is asking for their annual membership. The annual membership is $100.00. Motion Mr. King, Mr. Sanker approving the annual membership to the Turtle Creek Watershed in the amount of $100.00. Motion carried. The Turtle Creek Rotary Club is asking for a sponsorship for the Turtle Trot on Saturday, July 27, 2024. The silver sponsorship level of $250.00. Motion Mr. King, Ms. Henkel approving the Silver sponsorship to the Turtle Creek Rotary club in the amount of $250.00. Motion carried. Mr. Estocin- Asbestos studies are needed for the GEDTF Demolition structures. The Borough received a quote from Allegheny Global for $6,250.00 for all the structures. Motion Mr. Estocin, Mr. King approving the quote received for the asbestos studies in the amount of $6,250.00 from Allegheny Global. Motion carried. Mr. Nolan-Asking for approval of the Police and Public Safety Committee to look into ways to get traffic to slow down on the borough streets. Mr. Bianchi added to also make it safe for the pedestrian crossings. Page 4 Motion Mr. Nolan, Mr. King approving the Committee to look into traffic concerns on the Borough's streets. Motion carried. Mr. Sanker- None Mr. Spencer- The Borough was required to complete some maintenance on the Penn Avenue Bridge, sidewalk and curb repair. The lowest bidder was Satira Construction in the amount of $12,200.00. Motion Mr. Spencer, Ms. Henkel approving Satira Contruction to the required maintenance on the Penn Avenue Bridge in the amount of $12,000.00. Motion carried. The hiring of two full time officers. Both officers have completed the First hire is Dennis Rupert at the starting wage of $28.85 requirements for the positions. Motion Mr. Spencer, Mr. Sanker approving the hiring on Dennis Rupert as a full-time police officer at the rate of $28.85. Motion carried. Second hire is Russell Stroschein at the starting wage of $28.85. Motion Mr. Spencer Mr. Sanker approving the hiring of Russell Stroschein as a full-time officer at the rate of $28.85. The largest being the payment to ALCOSAN in amount of $418,714.09.
