Educational Service Agency Minutes: 10/19/2023 Members Present: Cindy Bigler, Chairmen, Anthony Boyer and Phyllis Giberson Other: JeffMargevich, ChiefofPolice The meeting was called to order by Cindy Bigler. ChiefMargevich reviewed the proper way the ESA should function and that the meeting needs to be advertised. The committee then proceeded to discuss the proposed budget draftfor the ESA Fund. After much discussion and mathematical calculations it was determined that the crossing guard figure needed to be increased to $4 46,073. The operating supplies, clothing and uniforms, FICA and Medicare and Workers compensation insurance will remain as presented in the 2024 budget draft Amotion was made by Phyllis Giberson and seconded by Anthony Boyer to approve the total Revised Budget for ESA for 2024atatotalo/51473 The discussion continued with the consideration ofusing some ofthe excess money budgeted (ifthere is any) as ai retention bonus for those guards that have been with usfor numerous years. This will be revisited at a future meeting. The figure presented in the motion is a 0.2 % increase in the budget. Remember that halfofthisfigure will be reimbursed to the Borough by the Penn Manor School District. Therefore it is only a 0.1 % increase.
