BOROUGH OF SLATINGTON The Water, Sewer/Solid Waste, and Highway Committee Workshop Meetings were held on September 25,2023 in Municipal Building, 125 South Walnut Street, Slatington, PA. The meeting was called to order by President Bartholomew at 6:30 PM with the following in attendance: PRESENT Thomas Bartholomew Joseph Wechsler-via phone Bryon Reed Jeffrey Hausman PUBLIC COMMENT: ABSENT Jeralyn Schoch OTHERS Daniel Stevens Justin Gross VISITORS Kris Burek Eric King Eric King - 336 1st Street. Signed in and was recognized to speak. Eric clarified he had made a mistake and that the repairs done on Chestnut Alley were not done by a resident, but by the road crew (without any directions from the borough to do that). Eric is asking what can be done to get that type of repair done on his road. Manager Stevens informed Eric that the road crew already has had a work order for about 3 weeks to fill the holes with hot mix. Eric feels it was a waste of cold patch for Chestnut Alley, since that alley will bei fixed correctly later. Jeffrey Hausman - Chairman; Members: Joseph Wechsler, Bryon Reed A. HIGHWAY 1. Committee Member Discussion: a. Discussion and update on South Street CDBG. Justin Gross informed the committee that the curb and sidewalk are in process. They should be done by Wednesday, unless there is a weather setback. They could start the road work as soon as Thursday, barring Councilor Hausman informed the committee that the trail is completed. Justin Gross wanted tot thank S&G for donating time and labor to clean the trail. Manager Stevens commended Being no further questions from the committee members, and sO the Highway Committee Meeting any bad weather. Otherwise, it should start on Monday. Mike Evans for his work in getting the trail ready for seal coating. was adjourned. B. SEWER Joseph Wechsler- - Chairman; Members: Bryon Reed, Jeffrey Hausman 1. Committee Member Discussion: Bryon Reed - Chairman; Members: Jeffrey Hausman, Joseph Wechsler a. The committee reviewed the quote from BEI Electrical for water tank lighting for $4,100.00. President Bartholomew requested this be tabled for more estimates and information. b. Councilor Reed provided an update on the control panel project. Councilor Reed stated that they have received some oft the material. They are looking at the November time frame for completion.
