Parker FONKI a - 1847 MERVILLE TOWN of SUMMERVILLE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING June 18, 2024 ATTENDANCE Present: Mayor Russ Touchberry, Councilmembers Kima Garten-Schmidt, Bob Jackson (phone), Aaron Brown, Tiffany. Johnson-Wilson, Matt Halter and Richard G. Waring, IV. Also in attendance were Town Administrator Lisa Wallace, Town Attorney GW Parker, and' Town Clerk Beth Messervy. A quorum wasi met. Public and press were duly notified. The meeting took place in Council Chambers at 200 South Main Street, Summerville, SC. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Touchberry called the meeting to order at 4:00pm on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. EXECUTIVE SESSION: Mr. Waring made ai motion, seconded by Ms. Garten-Schmidt, to enter into Executive Session to discuss aj personnel matter related to the Town Administrator search and a contractual matter related to the proposed MOU with Dorchester County and the Oakbrook Sports Complex. The motion carried, and Council entered into Executive Session at 4:01pm. Council reconvened at 4:20pm. Town Attorney GW Parker stated that Council met in Executive Session to discuss a personnel matter related to the' Town Administrator search and a contractual matter related to the proposed MOU with Dorchester County and the Oakbrook Sports Complex. He stated that no action was taken in Executive Session. OTHER BUSINESS: Mr. Waring made ai motion, seconded by Ms. Garten-Schmidt, that Council appoint Scott Slatton toi replace our current Town Administrator, and that the Town Attorney and Mayor negotiate a contract with Mr. Slatton, to bel brought back to Council for approval. Special Town Council Meeting Minutes - June 18, 2024 Page 2 Ms. Garten-Schmidt made ai motion, seconded by Mr. Halter, to approve the Memorandum of Understanding with Dorchester County for that portion oft the Oakbrook Sports Complex located within the Municipal Limits ofthe Town, deferring development ofthe complex to the County, and authorize the' Town Administrator to sign on behalfofthe Town. The motion carried unanimously. ADJOURN: Mr. Waring made ai motion, seconded by Ms. Garten-Schmidt, to adjourn the meeting.
