FINANCE/PLANNINGIZONING Ronald Kratz- Chairman; Members: Kevin Steckel, Zachari Halkias 1. Committee Member discussion on listed topics: a. Northern Lehigh Multimunicipal Comprehensive plan intermunicipal cooperative implementation agreement. Manager Stevens clarified that this is the second part of the multimunicipal plan. It is to have one zoning specialist go over everybody's zoning and coordinate them sO they work together. There have been meetings every month which Manager Stevens and Councilor Reed have been attending. Manager Stevens stated that Lehigh County is willing to put up the majority of the money, $75,000.00 of the total cost. There is $30,000.00 in kind from the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission. The borough would only be splitting approximately $30,000.00 amongst the six communities. This will be based on population, sO the estimate for Slatington is about $5,000.00. He suggested the borough use COVID19 LFRF money. Ifa community needs more work done, then they are responsible for the extra payment. President Bartholomew would like this placed on the next regular council agenda. There were no questions from the committee members; the Finance Committee Meeting was adjourned. B. PUBLICSAFETY Kevin Steckel - Chairman; Members: Ronald Kratz, Zachari Halkias 1. Committee Member discussion on listed topics: a. Discussion on issues with children at fire house, in vehicles, and on calls. The committee received a legal opinion and draft policy from Solicitor Young. 1 Councilor Steckel suggested providing a draft copy oft the policy to the fire company for their review and allow them to make recommendations. b. Discussion on options for replacement of air packs at fire company. Manager Stevens stated that he has not heard from Laurie Moyer concerning the CDBG grant. Manager Stevens stated there are other possibilities, applying for a LSA, FEMA grant; however, Fire Chief Austin Berger informed the committee that the fire department has applied for a FEMA grant several times and been denied. Discussion for replacement of tasers for police department. The committee received a quote from Axon. Police Chief Winokur stated there is a funding program available to support non-lethal equipment and he will look into it. This will be placed on the next committee agenda. There were no questions from the committee members; the Public Safety Committee meeting was adjourned. CIHUMANCOMMUNTY SERVICES Zachari Halkias - Chairman; Members: Kevin Steckel, Ronald Kratz 1. Committee Member discussion on listed topics: a. Discussion on allowing alcohol to be served at Fall Food Truck Festival & Rock the Park. The committee agreed that Denise Martinez is required to obtain a certificate of insurance in order to serve alcohol and must inform her insurer. This should be stated on the COI. Manager Stevens will send her a letter. There were no questions from the committee members; the Fuman/Community Services Committee meeting was adjourned. D. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: None E.
