Administrative Updates The PAWC announced that the Main Street water line project will go out to bid this spring. Jennifer stated that thisi is what the City has been waiting to hear. REGULAR MEETING Comments from the Public agenda items only. Mr. John Telencho asked if the CDBG projects are paving only or are they curb to curb. Jennifer stated that they are curb to curb paving and ADA ramps where applicable. Mr.. John Telencho wanted to know if the Demolition will begin once the Water Co. is done downtown and will the City! be notifying the businesses that their buildings willl be demoed. Jennifer stated once we get the approval from PENNDOT and get our permits, then yes to the demolition being done but answered no to notifying the businesses. She stated the Municipal Authority will be contacting the businesses when the Mr. Joe. John asked if Verizon was done with their underground work. Jennifer statedi that they were to her knowledge. time comes. She stated the Water Co. is the last utility holding up our streetscape. Old Business AN Motion to approve the. January 17,2018 meeting minutes (that were tabled at the last meeting due to not having enough people) was made by Mrs. Mackiewicz second by Mr. Coughlin. Motion carried. New Business AN Motion to approve the February 21, 2018 meeting minutes was made by Mr. Pietrzyk second by Mr. Brown. Motion carried. Al Motion to approve payment of the bills in the amount of $265,020.19 was made by Mr. Coughlin, second by Mrs. AI Motion to accept the Energy Agreement from Pennoni was tabled to next meeting. COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC- Mr. Telencho expressed his concerns about the apartments being built with the $3,000,000.00 grant. He wanted to know where the people are coming from to rent these apartments. Are people selling their homes to move in and will Slum Lords by up all their homes in Nanticoke? Why can't we use that grant money to keept the elderlyi in their homes? Jennifer stated that there are a lot of people in the other apartments that were supposed to bet for the elderly and are not that want to move due to noise and traffic int these buildings. Mr. Brown stated that these apartments are notj just for Nanticoke residents, they are open to any elderly person that wants to live there. Jennifer also stated, the grant money cannot be used to keep the elderly ini their homes. Mr. Telencho wanted to knowi if the City! has heard from the Eagle Scout thati is building a bulletin board that was approved by council months ago andi is this really going to be completed and kept upl by Council members. Mr. Coughlin responded that he will reach out this spring to see howi the project is going and YES, council willl help with keeping the bulletin board up to date.
