WORK SESSION- None Administrative Updates Officer on March 14, 2018. their behalf. -Executive Order #5 of 2018 was executed by Mayor Richard Wiaterowski to hire Chad. J. Callahan as al Reserve Police -It was announced that the City was awarded a 2018 LSA Grant in the amount of $450,000.00 for the downtown streetscape and the GNA School District was awarded $250,000.00 fori the Stadium Project which the City applied for on AI Motion was made by Kevin Coughlin, second by Mr. Pietrzyk to adjourn the work session. Work session adjourned. Mr. Lou Gianuzzi inquired about the 2018 LSA Grant in the amount of $450,000.00. He asked what is the 450,000.00 going to be used for. Donna stated that the budget will have to be adjusted due to applying for 1 million and receiving $450,000.00 but it will be used for the completion of the downtown streetscape. Mr.. Joe. John asked what the Cityi is earmarking that $450,000.00 grant for. Donna stated it will be acquisition and demolition. Joe also asked ift the $250,000.00 was enough to complete the GNA: School Stadium project and Donna stated no since they applied for 1 million for that too. COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC- Mr. Lou Gianuzzi inquired about thes senior housing project and wanted to know exactly where on Market Street it will be built. Hes stated that there is no room fori it. Donna stated it would be Main Street from Walnut St. to Shea St. Donna received al letter from the Salvation Army in Hanover Twp. that they will nowi take TV's as long as they are not Correspondence- damaged or broken. Two per car will be allowed. Announcements- Mr. Brown announced that City Hall willl be closed on Good Friday, March 30, 2018 and will reopen on Monday. April2, 2018 at 8:30am. ANIMALS OF WHEREAS, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Luzerne County (hereinafter "SPCA") has requested municipalities in Luzerne County to assist with LUZERNE COUNTY the costs associated with the care and handling ofs stray animals; WHEREAS, municipalities are required by law, in the instance of stray dogs, to use WHEREAS, the City of Nanticoke deems it advisable to enter into the proposed Agreement with the SPCA in order to fulfill its obligations under the law and meet its af facility for the care of stray dogs; obligation to provide for the health and safety of the City's residents. The SPCAof Luzerne County can be reached by the Local Governing Body at 570-825-4111 during normal business hours and 570-574-6875 after hours in case of an emergency. The SPCA of Luzerne County agrees to provide contracted municipalities with quarterly financial statements and quarterly stray intake reports detailing the location stray animals were found within the municipality's boundaries. Quarterly reports will be provided on or before the following dates: January 20 April 20 July 20 October 20 The SPCA of Luzerne County agrees upon conclusion of the initial five (5) year contractual agreement at 11:59pm on December 31, 2022, agrees to the following; the contract entered into in year 6 will cap any increase int the per capita cost associated with the census option and the per animal cost of the Municipal Services Agreement that is the responsibility of the contracted municipality. The rate ofi increase will not exceed the five year cumulative rate of inflation as determined by the US Federal government.
