209 New Eagle Borough Council met in Reorganization Session on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, Municipal Building, 157 Main Street, New Eagle, Pennsylvania. Solicitor Tim Berggren, also being a notary public, swore in Mayor Charles (Chas) Fine. The meeting was called to order by Mayor C. Fine, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited and roll call was taken. Roll Call wast taken by Administrator, Kim Koontz: Present: S. Bobnar, J. Fine, J. Schmid. Absent: W. Sherry Absent: Engineer Others Present: Mayor, Administrator, Solicitor, Police Chief There being quorum present, the meeting was declared in order. Schmid. W. Sherry was absent and was not sworn in. Solicitor Tim Berggren, also being a notary public, swore in council members S. Bobnar, J. Fine, andJ J. Mayor Fine shared that S. Miller failed to formally accept the elected council position by completing and submitting the required paperwork to the Board of Election of Washington County and therefore his seat needs formally vacated. Visitor and resident Russ Moskal shared an update regarding the Moskal subdivision plan with Council and those present. Mr. Moskal and his surveyor continue to work with the Borough Engineer, Bryan Churilla from KLH Engineering. His next step is to submit an application and the plan to the County for approval. Bobnar reported that the Public Works Department patched potholes throughout the Borough, painted the breakroom and safety lines at the Borough Garage, cleaned out behind the Borough Garage, fixed drainage ditch on Walnut St., continue to repair and maintain equipment as required and needed. S. Bobnar reported that the Monongahela Chamber of Commerce purchased al building on Main Street, Monongahela, formerly known as The Finishing Touch. The Chamber Office will move to the said building. They will have at formal Press Release later this month with more details. J.F Fine reported on the positive status ofTri Community Ambulance. must be cleared of snow/ice within 24 hours following the end of snowfall. Mayor C. Fine reminded the Borough and residents thereof oft the Snow Removal Ordinance. Sidewalks Mayor C. Fine reported that four cars were tagged by Officer Fusco last month because of code Mayor C. Fine reported on the status of three new entrance signs to the Borough to be purchased from Don's Signs. He shared the proof with Council and audience. Motion to purchase three new composite, "Welcome to New Eagle" signs installed with vinyl covered posts for three borough entrances, at Rt. 88, at Rt. 837, at Main St near Monongahela/New, Eagle Border with Solar Lights installed to light signs fora total cost not to exceed $10,000.00 and recognizing the new' 'eagle' asi it appears on the sign as the eagle to be used for any branding purposes-S.
