BOROUGH OF FOUNTAIN HILL COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES March 5, 2018 7:00 PM Council members present were: Mr. Rapp, Ms. Jordan, Mr. Blatt, Ms. Halleman, Mr. Atkinson, Mr. Trotter, and Mr. Trabel. Also, in attendance were Mayor Gifford, Anthony Branco, Executive Administrator, Fire Chief Boeher, Sgt. Hochwarter, the Bethlehem Press, and guests. Council President Rapp called the meeting to order and asked for everyone to rise for the Pledge Council President asked Council for a motion to accept the minutes of the January 24, 2018 meeting. The motion was made by Ms. Jordan to accept the minutes, seconded by Mr. Trotter, and Council President asked Council for a motion to accept the minutes of the February 5, 2018 meeting. The motion was made by Mr. Trotter to accept thei minutes, seconded by Ms. Jordan, and tot the Flag approved unanimously. approved unanimously PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR - Discussion on Agenda Items None PRESENTATIONS: Mr. John Spadaccia presented to Council plans for a Memorial to Veterans to be erected at the Spiegel Triangle funded by the Fountain Hill American Legion Post 406. The plan calls for a Memorial wall with plaques for the. Army, Navy, Marine Corp., and Coast Guard. These plaques are to honor Veterans who have served in the military. There will also be aj plaque listing the American Legion Post 406 Committee Members; Gerhart C.J Bassett, Commander, John L. Spadaccia, Judge Advocate, James B. Taglang, Mr. Spadaccia suggested to Council that the brick pavers as well as the 4 granite benches that are part of the plan be purchased by the public, and their names be engraved on the bricks and benches. Mr. Branco will check into the details oft the fund raiser. Financial Officer, and Robert S. Barnes, Adjutant. MAYOR'S REPORT Mayor Gifford presented to Council the February Police report. Mayor Gifford informed Council that the next clean-up day will bei in April. She also stated that the Fountain Hill Business Alliance had met again and worked on the Community Day program. The date will be. June 9, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 31 PM at the Stanley Avenue Park. The rain date is. June 16, 2018. Mr. Rapp informed Council that the Borough has received notification that the 901 Recycling grant is open. Mr. Rapp asked Council ift they would like Mr. Branco to apply for the grant to purchase a skid loader that is used for the olectionmanagement of the Ms. Jordan made ai motion to direct Mr. Branco to move forward with the grant, seconded woody material collected. by Mr. Trotter.
