BOROUGH OF FOUNTAIN HILL COUNCIL COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES January 7,2019 7P.M. Council members present were: Ms. Jordan, Mr. Atkinson, Mr. Blatt, Mr. Trotter, Mr. Trabel, and Ms. Halleman. Also, in attendance were. Anthony Branco (Executive Administrator), Cordula Voges (Finance Officer), Pete Lehr (Borough Solicitor), and guests. Council Vice-President Blatt called the meeting to order and asked for everyone to rise for the Pledge to the Flag. PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR - Discussion on Agenda Items Ms. Megan Martin, a Fountain Hill Borough resident on 1258 Broadway, presented the "Project Lifesaver" to Council and suggested to Council to become a member agency. Project Lifesaveris a 501 (C)(3) community based, public safety, non-profit organization that provides law enforcement, fire/rescue, and caregivers with a program designed toj protect, and when necessary, quickly locate individuals with cognitive disorders who are prone to the life-threatening behavior of wandering. The program is run at a municipality level by public safety agencies, such as the local Police Department. Mayor Gifford is simultaneously going to address the Police Department to get additional quotes on "Search and Rescue" technology equipment. MAYOR'S REPORT The Mayor expressed her deep sorrow for the passing ofthel late Council President, Larry Rapp. Ms. Gifford reported that she had read the Mayoral Proclamation to Larry Rapp honoring him for thei many years ofs service to the Borough and its various organizations a few days before his passing. She thanked Council for their support tol have Dodson Field renamed to the late Council President's name. Mayor Gifford updated Council on the latest Police report. Mayor Gifford announced a new initiative, "Fountain Hill Prowl", to get more residents involved in the efforts of the Small Business Alliance to help and promote local businesses. EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATORS REPORT Cleaning Services (proposals); Service Master - weekly cleaning, $6,840.00/yr. JMI- weekly cleaning, $6,708.00/yr. The vacancy board shall consist ofthe council, exclusive of the mayor, and one registered elector oft the borough who shall be appointed by the council at the council's first meeting each calendar year or as soon as practical Mr. Branco presented a letter ofinterest from Jose Rosado to serve as Vacancy Chairman. Oak St./Church St. no parking (12/3/2018) Mr. Branco reported that there are still problems with cars parked on Oak Street blocking Public Works and Republic Services vehicles and residents on Clewell and Tombler Streets to get to their garages and/or back yards.
