OLD BUSINESS Playground Update Ms. Johnson presented the recommendations of the Recreation Committee for the summer playground program. She made the motion to hire eight of the applicants in addition to the Playground Manager, Kayleel Levernierat a pay rate of$20/hr for the Playground Manager, $18/hr fort the. Assistant Playground Manager and $15/hr for the park counselors. She stated that all work permits and clearances are or will be inj place before the start of the program. Ms. Johnson also made the motion to keep the hours for the summer program at 9 am to 12 pm and 6 pm to 9 pm. The evening hours are recommended, to alsooffer a structured program for the older kids. Ms. Jordan stressed theimportance ofintermittent police patrols around the park to monitor the program and the premisès- provided the police officers are: not called to anotheri incident. Council agreed with Ms. Jordan. Mayor Johnson will address the police presence at the park, especially Council President Blatt asked ifthere was a second to Ms. Johnson's motion to hire the park staff during program. hours at the upcoming Police Committee meeting. and establish the playground program hours. Ms. Johnson made the motion to expand the work of the coalition to include cleaning oft the pool building inj preparation for painting it.
