C.Police (Atkinson, Trotter, Gifford) Chief Bachert noted that unused medicines can be dropped off at St. Luke's Hospital and the Fountain Hill Police Station on 9/26/2019 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. D. House & Ordinances (Blatt, Halleman, Jordan) none E. Fire (Trabel, Ferencin, Halleman) Mr. Trabel read the partial September EMS responses. F.Recreation (Ferencin, Atkinson, Blatt) Mr. Ferencin reported the scheduled closing of the swimming pool on August 11, 2019. In response, Mayor Gifford apologized to all Council members, except to Leo Atkinson and Norm Blatt, assuring that it was not her intent to vilify anyone but raise awareness about thei issue. MAYOR'S REPORT Mayor Gifford thanked everyone for having attended the September 17,2019 Special Council Meeting dealing with police coverage in Fountain Hill. She explained that she was permitted to use the social media platform toi inform oft the issue and engage the residents ini the discussion. PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR - Discussion on Non - Agenda Items The resident on 834 Tombler Street welcomed tonight'sl Resolution No 2019-32 advising social media platforms ofunauthorized and misleading use oft the name of"Borough of Fountain Hill". The speaker recommended to publish the written - or possibly even live stream recordings oft the Mr. Brian Ferencin suggested to expand the Borough' 's recreational activities to Peewee Football - Minutes as timely as possible. and/or Soccer Leagues on the Stanley Park fields. The resident on 834 Tombler Street requested "Permit Parking" on Tombler Street because residents from the surrounding apartments and St. Luke's Hospital nurses frequent the parking spaces and preventing Tombler Street residents parking in front of their homes. Council President Atkinson responded that a COMPREHENSIVE parking plan is needed and promised to take this issue up in the future. Mr. Spencer suggested to also contact St. Luke's Hospital and ask them to educate their employees and students to make use of the St. Luke's readily available parking Mr. Spencer stressed the importance oflocal government" 's transparency and suggested to post the Council Meetings' agenda on the Borough's s website and appoint someone to create an official The resident at 1215 Broadway commended Mayor Gifford on her recent social media campaign Mr. Patrick Figueroa stated that any government official's public outreach should be scrutinized and only go through official channels.
