MINUTES BLAWNOX BOROUGH COUNCIL Regular Meeting May 8#h, 2024 Call to Order President Laskey called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers. A. The use he wants is not permitted or conditional in any zone sowe needed to make some change. Solicitor Dalfonso suggested amending the zoning ordinance sO that it says any use not listed in the ordinance is automatically a conditional use and must come 2) Motion to have a public hearing regarding the Amended Zoning Ordinance before council. Community Events 1) PA System - The Borough has purchase the new PA system. 2) Memorial Day - We have purchased two new easy ups for at the monument to keep the Veteran's and other guests out of the elements. Second: Ms. Palmer Motion Carried: 6-0 These bids were opened electronically today. Old Business Community Park Sidewalk Update - They started on Monday demoing the sidewalk. They 363 Walnut Street & 933 Cable. Avenue Water Meter Replacement = Both had the plumbing poured some of the sidewalk already and will be back toi finish. they needed done and the meters have been replaced. 38 Riverside Ct-1 We are waiting for a hearing at the magistrates. Pompeao - Already discussed during the Motion of Zoning Amendment Centennial Committee - The committee is planning another meeting. Bricks, food and beverage meeting - The first round of bricks have come and been installed at the monument, they look amazing. The Committee is planning a meeting with the food and beverage establishments in town to see ift they are interested in being involved in the event and Carr 209 Summit Drive - The property was sold at Sherrif's Sale to PNC Bank. The owner tried Vice President Stoddard shared that the Petre Property officially sold and we were paid ini full how they would like to be involved. to set aside the sale saying he was not notified but the case was dismissed. for back taxes and water. New Business Riverside Court Trash - We have been having issues with trash in the Borough. Mostly not using cans. There have especially been some issues with Riverside Ct. Between 24&25 Riverside Court there was trash burying the Fire Hydrant. Louann is working to update the ordinance. In your packets there was a redlined document she has been working on. Please take the documents home and read it over and let us know what you think. One suggestion from council was to look ini to buying trash cans. We are unable to put a dumpster at Riverside Ct. 310 4th Street storm water - We did not know but their storm water lateral runs right down the middle of our street. There is some blockage and they feel we are responsible because iti is under our street. Solicitor Dalfonso does not feel there is any way we are responsible. It is an 8 inch terracotta pipe and our pipes are 15 in concrete. Solicitor Dalfonso sent a letter that we need them to repair the pipe or reroute their stormwater.
