Mayor Cawley: The Board has accomplished a lot of things thanks to the Federal and State governments making grant money available. This Board has made it a vision to make these beneficial to the residents of Mount Airy. Celebrated the NC Foam announcement that they will build their new building in Mount Airy and retain their employees here. Wanted citizens to understand that when the Board goes into closed session and they wonder why, this is one of the reasons and NC Foam decided when they wanted to make this decision public, not the City. Mount Airy didn't have a ready site but other places in Surry County did-Mount Airy may not be as fortunate next time. Thanked Valerie for her years of service to the City.
