Councilmember Nicholas Martinez read aloud the City of Rocky Ford's Mission Statement PUBLIC COMMENT Gary Reed informed Council that hel believed that the City of Rocky Ford has done ag good job ont the work at the oldl El Capitan. Reedi informed Council that he did have aconcern that a piece of metal had been! left swinging on a cable and Reed wanted to inform Council justi in case itr may be dangerous. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Martinez. Milenski added: some information tol her report. Milenski reported that additional parts were needed for thei installation of ther new meters. Water/Wastewater Foreman Cody Baylor answered questions from Council. Baylor alsoi informed Council thatl lightening protection was needed for zone 2. Therei is nos surge protection and the recent lightening has caused some damage. Museum Curator Rob Marshall submitted his monthly written report. PUBLIC HEARING None OLD BUSINESS None EXECUTIVE SESSION None NEW BUSINESS Rocky Ford School Board - Request for an Additional Stop Sign This matter was discussed during the work session tonight. Itwas moved by Councimember Roberts and seconded by Councimember Martinez to approve an additional stop sign with the location oft the stop sign to be determined at al later date and also toi increase the speed limit from 15 mph to 20 mph. Barron reported that he attended the last Arts Commission meeting and gave information from that meeting and upcoming Noi movie willl be shown August 16 - 18, due to the Arkansas Valley Fair. Councilmember Roberts reported the following: Martinez reported that he attended the Tree Board meeting. Tree Board is very busy. Roberts reported thatt the Chamberi is still on ai membership drive. Wake-Up Breakfast willl be: served for the Fair and the Silver Queen and King willl be selected later att the Gobin Building. The Chamber will bel hosting Bingo at thel Fair on Thursday night and will also be helping with the Melon Chunkin Festival and other upcoming events Councilmember Mullins reported the following: Mayor Gurulé reported thei following: Mullins reported on events at thel Museum. There has been al lot of workl being done cleaning the Museum. Gurulé reported that he will havel board meetings upcoming that he will attend. Gurulé attended the Picnici int the Park andt the Taste of Summer. Heart andi iti is hoped thata aj presentation willl be held at the September 10 meeting. Gurulé attended al leadership meetingi in Colorado Springs. Gurulé and Cordoval have been working on creating a proclamation to honor fallen soldiers and recipients of The!
