SPECIAL MEETING AUGUST 4, 2024 10:00. AM The Lafayette County Commission met on the above date and hour for a special meeting. The meeting was held in the County Commissioners Meeting Room in Mayo, Florida. The following members were present: Commissioner Lance Lamb, Dist. 1; Commissioner Mason Byrd, Dist. 2; Commissioner Lisa Walker, Dist. 3; Commissioner Anthony Adams, Dist. 4; Commissioner Earnest Jones, Dist. 5; and Leenette McMillan- Fredriksson, County Attorney. TROPICAL STORM DEBBY SheriffLamb appeared before the Board to discuss the anticipated impacts of Tropical Storm Debby. On a motion by Mr. Lamb and a second by Mr. Byrd, the Board voted unanimously to issue a voluntary evacuation for all residents living in low lying areas and flood prone areas or structures that have previously flooded during heavy rains. The voluntary evacuations will go into effect on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 11:00. AM. On a motion by Mr. Adams and a second by Mr. Lamb, the Board voted unanimously to give the Board Chairman, Sheriff and Clerk ofCourt the authority to declare a curfewifnecessary.
