Reports from the 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, USS Stockdale, and 1st Assault Helicopter Battalion, 140th Aviation Regiment Representatives Sebrina King, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines stated that on August 7th, they had their mid-deployment virtual briefing. The Back-to-Schoo: giveaway was successful and they gave over 150 backpacks and miscellaneous school items. The $500, that was approved, was not needed. Future events will be a bingo potluck and a paint and sip for the halfway celebration. She will have more information, next month, on the Help a Hero event. She will send information on the deactivation ceremony soon which should be happening in March 2025. Mayor Pro Tem Oddo suggested having information regarding the possible newly adopted regiment by November 2024 sO that there is time for the City Council to review and make a Chair McGrath stated the USS Stockdale has joined the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group. This Strike Group will travel to the Gulf of Oman and replace the USS Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group. Committee Member Bowman reported that the 1st Assault Helicopter Battalion, 140th Aviation Regiment, had their final drill for the fiscal year. The goal is to do a Discuss and Approve Changing the Military Support Committee Logo. Committee Member Gerard discussed the various logo concepts.
