RE: MATTERS FROM' THE PUBLIC Mr. Steve Bowman Commented on the public safety radio community systems report. Expressed concern that the three options included in the report ignored a viable fourth option of thel Harris Corporation which hej providedi information on. Hea also believed the RFP processrather than a sole-source approach would provide the greatest value for Greene County. RE: LONG RANGE TRANSPORTATONFLAN Mr. Kristian Zimmerman, of the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission, was present to review the Rural Long-Range Transportation Plan. Extensive input was provided by 2040 RLRP is a regionally focused plan for the rural portions of the Thomas Jefferson Planning District. The plan contains information on the regional transportation network along with an analysis of needs based on available funding programs. The plan then provides a list of project recommendations that address these needs and deficiencies. Projects are prioritized based on their potential performance for the Smart Scale process. Smart Scale is the Commonwealth's TJPDC staffh have completed a draft version ofthe 2040 Rural Long-Range Transportation Plan which includes updates tot the regional loverview, demographics, transportationsystem, safety, public transportation, freight and inter-regional transit, employer locations (rural), freight generators, travel demand management, land use, bridge sufficiency, and an overall deficiency Reviewed demographic, population trends, and roadway system deficiencies for Greene County. Agreement expires June 30 and staff is working with Sheriff's Mrs. Meador said she is developing a basic outline of where we are, where we need to be and how we're going to get there. Stakeholders will meet to discuss goals, objectives, and priorities which will then be added to the plan. Should come before the Board of Supervisors at Office to renew agreement. the end of August. RE: PUBLICS SAFETY RADIO PROJECT Mrs. Meador said Phase 1 was completed by Black and Veatch. Phase 2, which consists of procurement, RFP, technical specification document and contract negotiations, has funding available. July 1. The recommendation is to continue with Black and Veatch for Phase 2. Mr. Barkley said other options are being considered including talking to Orange and Albemarle counties. We're looking around for the best deal and best product for the future as Mrs. Meador said grants and other funding sources are also being researched. technology changes SO quickly. RE: LIAISON REPORTS Mr. Herring said the Planning Commission met last Wednesday and held a public work Mr. Martin said the 4th of July walking parade is at 3:00 p.m. this year. The Greene Commons project is in site plan review stage. Staff is working on the creation ofal Ruckersville session on animal kennels. The Broadband Committee meets tomorrow. Area Plan citizen group. Mrs. Durrer said the fair opened tonight and runs through Saturday night. Mr. Cox said there was an Emergency Services meeting last Tuesdaynight where thei main topics were radio equipment and first flood of2018. He noted VDOT continues to work on road Mrs. Flynn said the Social Services Board met to consider the director's annual performance evaluation. The office did well again on recent audit. There was a combined JABA Board meeting yesterday she was not able to attend. JABA is very excited about opening for a repairs. third day in Greene. RE: COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR UPDATE Mr. Barkley said the Central VA Partnership for Economic Development will be hosting their annual meeting at Four Seasons on Friday at 9:00 a.m. Rapidan Service Authority will be holding aj public hearing on Thursday, June 28 at 5:30 p.m. in the county meeting room regarding the facility fee increase.
