REQUESTS, PETITIONS, COMMUNICATIONS AND APPOINTMENTS Citizen comments werel heard: regarding thej proposed Resolution R-19-63 for the City of Covington to become a Second Amendment Sanctuary City. The following citizens spokei in favor of the Resolution: Robert Floyd, IV, Sheriff Kevin) Hall, Corey Clark, Dave Reynolds, Jacob] Lockhart, Nicole Clemons, Nathan McCallister, Mike Wickline, Stacy Patterson, Phil Cartwright, Chad' Tacy, Barry) Bunch and) Bernie Moncrief. Comments included the needt to protect the Second. Amendment rights of citizens top protect their homes, families andi neighbors. Concerns were expressed as to whyt the government wantst to disarm the people. Many stated their beliefin the Constitution and the rights given to the people. Ity was also stated thatt there are note enough law enforcement personnel toj protect everyone. SheriffHalli recommended that Council pass this Resolution and protect the Constitution.
