LOCATION: ALAMO COMMUNITY CENTER  IN ATTENDANCE: Mayor Pam Lee, Patricia Woodard (Zoom), Bobby Cox, Dondrea Geter, Steve. Jones,  Pro-Tem Thomas Lott, and City Manager,. Jeff Floyd  ABSENT: Harry Lewis  1. Call Meeting to Order- = Mayor Lee called the meeting to order at 6:02 pm  2. Invocation - Jeffrey Floyd 3. Pledge of Allegiance approved. OLD] BUSINESS  4. Approve Agenda - Lott made a motion to approve the agenda, Geter 2nd, unanimously  5. Broadband Grant - Cox made a motion to go with Glenwood Telephone Company because they have been in the county for years, their internet is faster than Culture Wireless, and they have already started laying fiberi in the much-needed areas around the city of Alamo. - Lott stated that he knows a motion was made but would like to get everyone else opinion. - Jones agreed with Cox because of the basic same reasons as Cox. -Lott would like to know what it will cost the customers, and can you have broadband without the telephone? Jim O'Brian with Glenwood Telephone stated that with broadband you can have internet without having telephone. O'Brian stated that the 1 meg that they are offering is $91.99 but are in the process of adjusting the prices. Effective Oct 1s1, GTC will be offering a 1 gig plan which includes all you can get for $99.95. They are participating in the ACP, which is the affordable plan started by Biden, the consumers can get $30 off you bundle service. Woodard - stated that she believes both companies should be present. Dondrea made a motion to table the topic and have another meeting with both companies, Lott 2nd, unanimously approved. Next meeting will be Monday, October 3rd, 2022.  PUBLICI PARTICIPATION:  Steve Pollard - asked that if GTC doesn't get the letter, does that mean Alamo is disqualified? Jim stated that no because whoever gets the letter gets points for that letter. Meeting adjourned at 7:00 PM with Geter making the motion, Lott 2nd, unanimously approved.
