OprsTgs  MINUTES - CALLED COUNCIL MEETING - MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2021-5:30P.M.  LOCATION: VIA ZOOM  INA ATTENDANCE: Mayor Pamela Lee, Bobby Cox, Dondrea Geter, Steve. Jones, Harry Lewis, Patricia  Woodard, and Thomas Lott  Called to order by Mayor Lee at 5:30 pm.  1. Invocation - Jeffrey Floyd unanimously approved. OLD BUSINESS  2. Approve Agenda - Cox made a motion to approved agenda with addition, Lewis 2nd,  3. Police Officers - there were: 3 individuals that were interviewed for police officers. There were 2 individuals that were selected, and they were Hannah Hernandez and Brandon Zuckerman. R. Clark has got an employment contract for them to sign to go to the academy. The reason for this called meeting was to go ahead and get the contract approved because there is only a 2- week window to get everything in before academy starts.: A copy of contract is attached. Jones made the motion to send the 2 to the police academy, Woodard 2nd, unanimously  approved.  Contract - Woodard made a motion to approve the contract for the officers to  sign, Lewis 2nd, unanimously approved.  4. WWTP trees - Floyd talked to council last month about getting aj price to cut the trees near the WWTP because they are slowly starting to fall on the power lines. Since then, hel has talked to. Jack Tribble and Mr. Tribble: said that it wouldn't be feasible for him to cut the trees because it wouldn'tbe enough. Beech Timber is down therè now and cutting the property adjoining the cities portion. They gave aj price of7 different times oft timber and Webb Swamp logging priced 3 different types of timber. Prices are as follows: Pulp wood - Webb Swamp Logging is $12.49/ton and Beech Timberi is $17.50/ton, Pine cut blocks - Webb Swamp is $32.60, and Beech Timber is $42.80 and 3" blocks Webb is $16.60, and Beech Timberi is $15.50. Webb Swamp can move in at any time and Beech is already there. Mayor asked ifit would have to be advertised and City Attorney R. Clark stated that it shouldn't have to be advertised because it is less than $100,000. Cox makes a motion to go with 5. Meeting adjourned at 6:00 PMI with Geter making the motion, Lewis 2nd, unanimously approved.  Beech Timber Company, Woodard 2nd, unanimously approved.
