Woodard would take minutes from Executive session. 1. Calll Meeting to Order - Lee called to order @ 6:05 pm. 2. Invocation - Jeff Floyd 3. Pledge of Allegiance 4. Approve minutes from 4/17 Regular Meeting and 5/1 Called Meeting Woodard made the motion to approve the minutes from 4/17 Regular Meeting, Geter 2nd, unanimously approved. Jones made a motion to approve the minutes from 5/1 Called Meeting, Geter 2nd, 5. Approve Agenda - Floyd wanted to add Storm Drainage with the LMIG 2023 bids. Woodard made aj motion to approve the agenda with the addition added to item #11, Geter 6. Finance Reports - Brownley made the motion to approve the reports, Geter 2nd, unanimously approved. 2nd, unanimously approved. unanimously approved. OLDBUSINESS 7. Eastside Park Update - Geter stated that the kit for the splash pad should bei in any day. Once in, it will be installed. Mayor Lee has got a quote from Mr. Charlie Mackey to clean the floor in the concession stand and it's $75.00. Floyd got a quote from JWI Fence for $5,800 for 8. City Hall Update - Floyd stated that everything that was supposed to be done has been. He reached out to the architect, Mr. Dean, and he has given a contract to help the city with the construction contract and oversee the progress oft the job. Woodard made a motion to give the bid to Pro Construction in the amount of $968,111,Jones: 2nd, Geter and Brownley approved. Cox opposed, but the vote passed by majority. Woodard made a motion to move $206,012.11 from the ARP savings fund to the City Hall account to cover the building of the new city hall, Jones 2nd, Geter and Brownley approved. Cox opposed, but the vote passed by majority. Brownley made a motion to accept proposal/contract from the architect pending R. Clark approval, Jones 2nd, Geter and Woodard 9. New City Hall Sign - Woodard made a motion to table this subject until the city is closer to completing the new city hall, Geter 2nd, unanimously approved. the privacy fence between the park and the Lewis residence. approved. Code Enforcement Officer Contract- Woodard made ai motion to accept the contract with a6 6-month contract starting July 1,2023, Jones 2nd, unanimously approved. Will havea town hall meeting to inform the citizens of the new code enforcement officer and the process 11.LMIG 2023 bids/Storm Drainage Floyd stated that there was only one seal bid turned in and it was from Hooks Construction. Gave a quote of $43,000 to complete the project. Will take the overage out ofTLOST to cover the rest of the project. Cox made a motion to Storm Drainage = Floyd stated that he got 2 quotes for the drainage issue on Cherry Dr. Hooks for $2,000 and Taylor & Sons for $3,850. Both quotes require the city to supply the pipe. Jones made the motion to accept Hooks bid, Woodard 2nd, unanimously that is about to take place during the. Special Election Discussion (Harry Lewis seat) -J just discussed whether tol hold an election forL Lewis seat in September orj just add his seat to the November ballot. Woodard made a motion to accept Harry Lewis resignation, Geter 2nd, unanimously approved. Woodard also made a motion to table until the next meeting to get morei information from the 14. Administrative Committee - the committee met and went over the newi responsibilities of the Mayor and City Manager. There is a flow chart attached to go by along with the new ordinance. Woodard made a motion to adopt the ordinance, Geter 2nd, Brownley and the fees are passed on to the probationer. Registrar's office and R. Clark, Jones 2nd, unanimously approved. approved, Cox and Jones opposed. Passed by majority vote. 15. Call System for Wells/Plant - have had issues with the wells and plant since December and Boyette has given a quote of $4,300 to add a system that will call cellphones that are put on filei if the system goes down. Can be paid for out oft the W/S account. Woodard made a motion to go with the system, Geter 2nd, unanimously approved. 16. City Managers Report - Report attached. 17. Fire Report - no report 18. Police Report - Report attached. PUBLICI PARTICIPATION Johnny Moore - upset on the division of the council. Communication has got to be open and sidebars need to stop. Thank the street employees on helping when the tree fell on his house. Meeting adjourned at 7:38 PM with Woodard making the motion, Cox 2nd, unanimouslya approved.
