MINUTES- - COUNCIL MEETING-MONDAL, SEPTEMBER 20, 2021 - 6:00P.M. LOCATION: VIA: ZOOM IN ATTENDANCE: Mayor Pamela Lee, Bobby Cox, Dondrea Geter, Steve. Jones, Harry! Lewis, Patricia Woodard, and Thomas Lott Called to order by Mayor Lee at 5:30 pm. 1. Financial Reports - reports attached 2. Brown's Zoning Hearing (5:30 pm) = a copy of the report from thel Planning & Zoning Commission is attached. Cox made a motion to approve the recommendation, Lott 2nd, unanimously approved. The: zoning for the property will be changed to B-3 Highway Oriented General Business District. 3. Invocation - Jeffrey Floyd 4. Pledge of Allegiance 5. Approve Minutes from 8/16 regular meeting & 9/13 Called meeting - Woodard made the motion to approve the 8/161 regular meeting minutes, Lewis 2nd, unanimously approved. Cox made the motion to approve the 9/13 called meeting minutes, Geter 2nd, unanimously 6. Approve Agenda - Cox made a motion to approve the agenda, Lott 2nd, unanimously approved. approved. EXECUTIVE SESSION (employee matters) - started executive session 5:47 pm. Lott made motion to go into executive session, Lewis 2nd, unanimously approved. Woodard would take minutes from Executive session. No votes were taken during executive session. OLD BUSINESS 7. City Hall Update & Funds - Mr. Dean has emailed Floyd with a preliminary layout of the new CH/PD/Counci & Court Room. Due to increase in supplies, he is proposed approx. $600,000 to renovate old pharmacy building. The building that is in place now looking at approx. $125-150/sq. ft toi renovate. Floyd stated that Dean has requested for the piece on front ofthe old pharmacy to be taken down she can get some accurate measurement of the front of the building. The city employees can take it down and could take a couple of days. Cox would like to get a quote on tearing down and put a metal building up and compare to renovating the current building. 8. ASAP Committee - Woodard asked Floyd ifl he needs any help with the planning oft the new building. Floyd stated that there is not much right now that can be done. Just need to decide on al layout. Woodard stated that she can get them together to give some ideas on the layout oft the building. 9. Veteran Monument Update = Floyd has talked to the Lyons Club, and they have agreed to pay to add the names to the: monument. Will try to get them added by Veteran's Day. NEWI BUSINESS 10. Recommendations from the. Administrative Committee - There is al handout ofTravel Guidelines attached for review. Will need to be presented twice for approval. Jones read out 11. Homecoming Parade - The parade is Friday, October 8, 2021, at 1:00 PM. Woodard advised the council that Events Planning committee will be doing a float to represent the City 12. LMIG2022-1 Floyd advised the council that lately the LMIG has been used to pave roads by the churches. The only road left to pave is the one First Ave. going by Alamo Missionary the guidelines. Will revisit it next month. of Alamo. Church. Still have time to come up with some extra streets. 13. City Manager Report - report is attached. 14. Fire Report - report is attached. 15.
