Engineer discussions -Last council meeting, it was voted to get quotes from some engineers to do some work on the drainage problems and the new well house in the city. Floyd stated that he got 2 quotes, one from Andrew Johnson with CMS and 2nd from Paul Christian with Roberts Civil Engineer. Quotes are attached. After discussion, Geter made a motion to use Roberts 8. Parking lot at Hitching Post Hardware and Stewart St. - Floyd has talked tol Lulu at the Hitching Post numerous times about the severity oft the parking lot. Floyd got a quote from Hooks Construction, which is in town completing the LMIG project, and would like for them to fix the parking lot and finish paving Stewart Street from the railroad tracks to Lucille Ave. Quote is attached. Part-time employee - Due to the city not having the inmate detail, Floyd would like to hire 2p part-time employees to work 161 hours a week and after some time, will get the best and go down to 1 part-time. Will advertise on. FB and take applications for 1 week. Spell made the questions for the council to answer, once complete will discuss further. New lawnmower- - Floyd stated that the 2 lawnmowers the city currently has are in bad shape and arel having to spend some money working on them. Has got a quote from Wesley & Sons in McRae for a Gravely 472 for &11,680.00. Quote is attached. Spell made the motion to 11. Garbage rates - Received an email stating that Republic isi increasing their rates by. .29 per can. Per contract, iti is stated that it can be done within a 3-year period, but the increase will not go over 3%. The monthly bill will go up approx. $86.00. Spell made a motion for the city to absorb the increase and not go up on the citizens, Lott 2nd, unanimously approved. 12. City Manager Report - report attached. Geter asked Floyd about speed bumps on E. buy thel lawnmower, Jones 2nd, unanimously approved. Railroad. Floyd. stated that speed bumps are being ordered. 13. Fire Report - report attached issued 3 citations and done 8 reports. 14. Police Report- - Report attached. For the month of] March, the PD answer approx. 330 calls, Lott discussed the Chief of Police getting his vehicle to drive back home. After discussion, Lott made the motion that the Chief gets to drive to/from home in his PD vehicle, Spell 2nd, all approved except Cox and Jones opposed.
