Agenda Item #1: MOTION TO CONSIDER Ordinance #2024-0002 approving at text amendment for various changes to the Adairsville Code of Ordinances. Staff Report Community Development Staff - Given by Pam Madison Citizens Wishing to Speak - Ken Hayes spoke to ask what it meant regarding items that everything is approved to start with but if there's Mrs. Madison responded that when a property needs to be rezoned, the preliminary plats go before the UZB who then gives a recommendation to the Council. If the Plat meets all development regulations and ordinance requirements, it is an administrative function for the UZB to approve it. This causes a delay. Other Cities have a development review committee that include the City Engineer. Ifiti meets our code, they can be approved for a land any changes later, it's going to go through staff. If they need variances, it will go before the UZB Mayor Pro Tem Castro asked if the Development Review Committee meetings were open to the public. Mrs. Madison answered no, it's an administrative meeting and if they meet all regulations there's no choice but to issue a land disturbance permit. The Council would review the final plat.
