Work Session Meeting Minutes January 16, 2024 Call to Order Mayor Pro Tem Ebonye Holt called to order the work session of the Woodland City Council at 5:451 PM on. January 16, 2024, at the Woodland City Hall. II. Roll Call The following persons werei in attendance: Mayor Pro Tem Ebonye Holt, Councilwoman Allison Owens, Councilman John Haralson, Councilman Jeffery Mitchell, and City Clerk Allissa Gresham. Mayor. James Carter, Councilman T.L. Carter, and Municipal Clerk Cynthia Powell were absent. III. Approval of Agenda Mayor Pro' Tem Holt made ai motion to approve the agenda. Councilwoman Owens seconded. All approved. Motion carried. IV. Guest Speaker: None Mayor Pro Tem Holt made ai motion to amend the agenda to change Section IV. 2024 Salaries to 2025 Salaries for the Mayor and Council Members. Councilwoman Owens seconded.. All approved. Motion carried. V. Business Discussed a) The Council discussed the 2025 salaries for the Mayor and Council Members tol be set b) The Council discussed events to be added to the 2024 City of Woodland Calendar. Clerk Gresham will add the events to the calendar for approval at the February 12, c) The Council discussed improvements for the City of Woodland Community Park. Some of the improvements suggested were ceiling fans, installing new outlets, picnic tables, reflectors for the driveway entrance, additional lighting for the park grounds, a large sign at the park entrance displaying the name of the park, rubber mulch for the playground, playground equipment for babies and toddlers, better folding chairs for indoor tables, installing an ice machine, installing an exhaust fan for the kitchen, installing 2-way or 3-way switches for lights, flood lights on corners oft thel building, outdoor trash cans, installing Wi-Fi service and security cameras. Councilwoman Owens suggested contacting Georgia Power to inquire about LED lights for the d) Mayor Pro Tem Holt discussed the City of Woodland Volunteer. Fire Department response time. Councilwoman Owens and Mayor Pro Tem Holt suggested new Christmas decorations such as lighting, larger Christmas flags, wreaths, and garland for decorating Main Street and Hwy. 41 power poles and inflatable yard decorations for City Hall. Mayor Pro Tem Holt suggested a sprinkler system for the City of Woodland Park for children toj play in during the summer. Councilman Haralson suggested cleaning up. junk cars and abandoned properties within the City. f) Councilman Haralson discussed the Council needing the new City of Woodland charter.
