Special Called Meeting to discuss the Extension of Intergovernmenta. Agreement with Montezuma and Oglethorpe Police Department  April 3, 2024 6:00 PM Montezuma City Hall 408 S. Dooly St. Montezuma, GA 31063  CALLTO ORDER: INVOCATION: PRESENT:  Montezuma City Manager, Mel Fulghom called the meeting to order at  6:00 PM.  Montezuma Police Chief Eric Finch led in prayer.  Oglethorpe Mayor Jimmy Daniels, Jr.; Oglethorpe City Council: Gerald Beckum, Jill Harrison, Michael Mahone, Melvin Moore, Cassandra Woodard; Montezuma Mayor Nealie Johnson; Montezuma City Council: Howard Brown, Walter Felton, Cleveland Hobbs, Charles Ivey, Daniel Porter, Marie Tooks; GMA Member Services Consultant Terrell Jacobs; Montezuma City Manager Mel Fulghom; Montezuma City Clerk. Jennifer McCarthy; Montezuma Police Chief Eric Finch; Montezuma Fire Chief Roy  Yoder  ABSENT:  No Citizens Present  CONSENT AGENDA  AGENDA:  Montezuma Police Chief Eric Finch presented an in-depth overview: and demonstration on how the departments are separated in Justice One Management Data System (system used for all officer activity). He further explained other concerns with GCIC Certification, revenues, newly certified officers, and administration (management, investigations,  technical support, training, scheduling, etc.)  Discussion of Plans to extend or end intergovernmental agreement with  Montezuma and Oglethorpe Police Department.    Oglethorpe Mayor & Council requested the following contract revisions:  12-month extension of contract.  Reduction of $3,000.00 Management and Administration fee Change from Monthly Concentrated Patrol Coverage Fee of $2,000.001 to Keep this clause int the contract "either party may cancel this agreement by giving the other party written notice at least thirty (30) days before  charging per call.  the effective date of the termination."  Other requests not included in contract revisions: Court Clerk and copy Mayor Daniels.  Request that a weekly work schedule is sent to Oglethorpe Municipal Mayor Daniels requested that employee deficiencies are promptly  emailed to him.  City of Montezuma stated following:  Preferred 5-month or 17-month extension of contract due to  Montezuma's budget calendar. remain the same.  Montezuma advised that Management and Administration fees should Addressed charging per call VS flat fee of $2,000 for Patrol Coverage.
