MINUTES CITY COUNCIL June 11, 2024  REGULAR MEETING OF THE MONTEZUMA  CALL TO ORDER:  Mayor Pro Tempore Daniel Porter called the meeting to order at 6:02  PM.  INVOÇATION:  Attendees stood as Mayor Pro Tempore Daniel Porter led in prayer, then  said the "Pledge of Allegiance" in unison.  PRESENT:  Council Members: Mayor Pro Tempore Daniel Porter, Walter Felton, Cleveland Hobbs, Howard Brown, and Charles Ivey; City Attorney, Jon Coogle; City Manager, Mel Fulghom; City Clerk, Jennifer McCarthy; Police Chief, Eric Finch; W & S Line Maintenance Chief, Lonnie Shaw; W/WW Plants Chief, Terry Cross; and Economic Developmenty/ioursm Mayor Nealie Johnson; Council Member Marie Tooks; Fire Chief, Roy  Coordinator, Angie Mathews  ABSENT:  Yoder and Public' Works Chief, Tim Goodman  CITIZEN COMMENTS  CITIZEN #1: Billy Shelley asked if the trees and grass growing on the sidewalk on W. Williams Responses: City Manager, Mel Fulghom, addressed to Council the need for equipment to cut trees, bushes, and grasses overgrowing sidewalks, just before Citizens Comments. CITIZEN #2: Tarshea Riley inquired about animal control and stated that she would be Responses: Police Chief Eric Finch explained the current animal control situation in the city CITIZEN #3: Teresa Gilbert Sneed inquired about utility bill assistance in Montezuma. Responses: Councilmember Charles Ivey addressed funding sources in our area.  Street could be cut and trimmed.  interested in serving on the DDA Board.  and Angie Mathew addressed the process ofj joining the board of the DDA.    Vote: Against: No Vote:  Mr. Ivey Mr. Felton zero Mr. Hobbs Mr. Brown  To accept Resolution #732 to approve the Mayor and Clerk to execute document to accept TIA Funds in the amount of $1,252,800.00 for the construction of terminal area east T-Hangar development apron and taxlway. SECTION 2 - 282 QUALIFICATIONS: COMPENSATION. BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Montezuma, Georgia and it is hereby ordained by authority of same that the Code of Ordinances Section Article Vi, Division 4, Section 2-282 of the Cily of Montezuma, Georgia, be, and the same is hereby amended as follows; By deleting Article VI, Division 4, Section 2-282 in it's entirety and Replace it  By adopting the Official Code of Georgia Section 36-42-7, Qualifications and Reimbursement of Directors; election of Officers: Training, by reference. Attached to and made a part of this  Amendment is a copy of Georgia Code 36-42-7.  Note: For clarification purposes the word "Directors" in the State Code is the same as the word  "Members" in the Official Code of Montezuma, GA. sO ORDAINED, this 21st day of May, 2024.
