Public Works Department - Mayor Pro-Tem Washington stated that the Public Works Department did an excellent Job on cutting the ditch in Arlen Oaks Subdivision. She also stated that the Water Department is still doing well. She reminded Council that LCDA still has not signed the water agreement. She suggested that the Council may need the water Attorney to revisit this situation. Councilmember Gerace made the motion to go into Executive Session to discuss personnel. Mayor Pro-Tem Washington suggested Mrs. Britton not bet told to come back next month because Council may not have anyi information to report. Finance Department-Mayor: Clancy stated Ms. Norton wasn'tpresent but her report ending August 30, 2018 was present. It was the consensus oft the Council that Ms. Norton be present at the work session to City Clerk-Ms. Cook-Osborne is working with her part-time clerk and she just completed her GBI training which is required to fingerprint and background check for all businesses that sells alcohol beverages. She presented new information from GIRMA for Department heads. The department heads are responsible for calling in emergency claims and completing the first incident reports. The department heads can retrieve a claim number 241 hours a day by calling the emergency number. She also informed the Council that all businesses that sell alcohol will require al background check and fingerprinting. The Occupational Business License applications will be mailed prior to November 1, 2018. She also explained that the city now has two ORI numbers. One for occupational licenses and one for the police department. Councilmember. Lee suggested that we contract out the background investigation portion. Police Department- - ChiefMomingstar stated that Court will be held on October 1, 2018 and it will be smaller because court was held twice in September because of the Labor Day Holiday. She stated that the new officer is still in training. She stated there is still aj problem with vandalism at the schools in the park area. They have received calls about problems on Terry Drive. Her major concern is that Probation is not following the cases through and her department is losing thousands per month. She also stated it's almost October and the department will receive al big list in December to write off fines that could have been collected. She suggested that the. Judge needs to assign some oft the victims to community service here in Municipal Court-Mrs. Davis stated that Court will be held on October 1, 2018 and she has 65 cases. Fire Department- - Chief Chipp wasn't present but Deputy Chief Ricky Merritt was. Mr. Merritt stated that Councilmember Leel had contacted contractors to get quotes on the repairs. Discussion Midway's Flood Ordinance - Mayor Clancy stated that wei received ai memo from LCPC stating that all ofLiberty County's FIRM coastal map panels including Midway's have been revised by FEMA and will become effective December' 7, 2018. As part oft this process, DNR has reviewed the City ofMidway's ordinance for compliance and has found some verbiage that should be updated prior to December. Aramark Contract- Mr. Bines, District Manager was suppose to be present to discuss his company's contract. The scheduled automatic: renewal was supposed to take place on September 01,2018. Mr. Bines has failed for the second time to meet with thel Midway City Council. He failed to show on July 23, 2018 and September 24, 2018.
