Staff: Main Street Director Kenda Woodard, Rashida Fairley, and Secretary Carmen Blount Absent: Treasurer Lenox Forsyth and Executive Director Alex Cohilas I. Call to Order ACTION: Chair White-Williams called the meeting to order at 6:32 pm II. Approval of the Agenda a) July 16, 2024 ACTION: Approval of the June 18, 2024, Regular Session Meeting Agenda. Motion: Vice-Chair Varner Second: Board Member Brown PASSED (4-0) III. Approval of Meeting Minutes a) June 18, 2024, Regular Session Meeting Minutes. ACTION: Approval of the June 18, 2024, Special Called Meeting Summary Minutes. Motion: Board Member Brown Second: Vice-Chair Varner PASSED (4-0) IV. New Business NONE V. Main Street Update Main Street Director Woodard explained to the DDA that her plan is to organize a retreat with the DDA, Historic Preservation Commission (HHPC), and the Main Street Advisory Board (MSAB) to get everyone on board to bring in new businesses and to assist struggling businesses. She also explained what a Certificate of Authorization (COA) from the Historic Preservation Commission means. Lastly, there are events on the following dates: July 27th, a dedication Jazz concert, and August 24th at 11 a.m., MaryAnn Mitcham COPS Day. Board Member Deyounks joined the meeting. Board Member Brown asked for everyone's thoughts on Tierra Mia becoming a fusion Mexican and Italian restaurant. He wondered if the Chairperson White-Williams stated that she would like to see something with multiple cuisines because her family could not partake in a strictly Italian restaurant because her children are picky eaters. Authority would proceed as it planned. VI. Board Comments Board Member Brown asked, "What's going on behind Target?" Chairperson White-Williams stated that she is not able to discuss it. VII.
