NEW BUSINESS 7:021 PM A. 2017-2018 PRELIMINARY BIENNIAL: BUDGET, AB 16-109 City Manager Schulze offered an opening statement on the 2017-2018: Preliminary Budget. At this meeting, the Council can choose to accept and approve it as presented; or, make changes. The deadline to approve the budget is December 31, 2016. Finance Director Schroer addressed Council and used al PowerPoint toj provide an overview oft thel budget. The City ofl Bainbridge Island prepares a biennial budget. This fallt the City Council will adopt al budget for 2017 and 2018. Thist two- year budget provides a financial plan for both years, allowing both the Council and City administration to set longer-term priorities The City Manager presented the preliminary budget for 2017 and 2018. Over the next two months, there is time at each Council meeting for Council review and discussion, community comment, and, ifrequested, staff presentation of additional information.
