LCVAC Minutes 3April 2024 Call to order at 4:30 Invocation and Pledge Williams Present: Bill Poole, Allen Storey, Michele Webb, Paul Hanson, Jacob Levy, Liz Curley, Heath Absent: Bill Rittenhouse, John Howerton (Ranger Camp rep is yet to be confirmed) Welcome: Bill Poole Minutes: Motion to approve- Allen. 2nd. Michele. Approved Treasurer: $20,244.19 available balance. Outstanding -$ $4500, $375 for wall engravings. Motion Discussion over whether we have sufficient funds to pay for Vietnam Monument. Original cost of $21880. Additional cost of $# per letter. On hand- - $19770. Possible fund raiser T Tidal Wave to accept - Heath. 2nd. Michele approved car wash. Wall of Healing cost- $20.000+ Contract has been signed. Liability waiver has been approved. $8650 received in donations. $5500 downpayment has been made. $5500 due on! 5 September. $4100 on hand. Signup genius on line for volunteers. Will be installed on Oct 30, and open to the public that afternoon. Volunteer training at 6 pm. Opening ceremony at UNG retreat ceremony. Will be Bill P. has made presentations to LCI Republican Party, and Noon Rotary. Will be speaking to VVA Organizational meetings will be 2nd and 4th Mondays, 4:30 at Chamber Office. Still need to contact Dale Good about possiblyi installing the fence. We are working on possibly getting a Memorial Day Ceremony - 27 May 10 am at Veterans Memorial Park. Keith Antonia will be the keynote speaker. Liz will confirm bugler, singer and Honor Guard. Bill Martin is working on finding 2 Vietnam Vets to unçover the memorial. Bill Poole will: speak to the Women's Club about refreshments. American Legion will provide the coffee pot. Donors for the Memorial will be listed on the program. Liz will contact the Nugget about newspaper coverage. We will need more chairs for the ceremony, and it was suggested that we look for a better sound system. open 24 hours a day. and organizations in Gainesville, reduced cost for coins, as we estimate the need for between 300-400. Memorial Markers will be placed on the Square on 21 May for the Induction ceremony. Memorial Markers will go up 26 and 27 October to prepare for Veterans Day Ceremony. Jacob Levy has been officially approved as the UNG representative. He is still working on coordinating a food drive for student veterans. No ranger camp update/ Motin to approve - Allen. 2nd.
