LCVAC Minutes June 6, 2024  Call to order: 4:30  Pledge - John Howerton Prayer - Heath Williams  Present: John Howerton, Paul Hanson, Bill Poole, Bill Rittenhouse, Liz Curley, Allen Storey, Heath  Williams  Absent: Michelle Webb, Jacob Levy  Guests: Keith Merton, Ron Winkowski, Jeremy Nye, Laura Russell (UNG)  Laura spoke on Student Veterans- the food insecurity program, and how she has been addressing it with ready-made meals. Discussion on needs, and what we might be able to do to  assist.  Memorial Day After Action discussion:  Bill Poole will be leaving the committee next April. He will need replaced. Allen is officially replaced by Michelle. We paid more than ever before for Memorial Day Bill Rittenhouse mentioned that we may need at fund raiser in the fairly near future for events, with money kept in a separate account. Heath presented a list of After Action recommendations. Finances: Bill Poole has been working to reconcile our balance with the accounts kept by the County. Our Bank account shows $18210.87. The separate accounts kept by the County do not match. The Wall account show $11392, which is close in both systems. There is a discrepancy in the Bill fori the Vietnam Memorial. Bill P says he will work to renegotiate the discrepancies. Motion was made by Bill R and 2nd by Heath. It wa approved. We need $5500 for the DC part of  the Wall bill. Additional $9000 is needed. Next meeting will be in August  For the Veterans Day Parade, John Howerton will take charge. Liz suggested Korean vets as Grand Marshall. She will provide names to Committee.
