OPEN FORUM NONE 4.2.24) Regular Meeting 1 SPEAKER Ray Simpson with Enterprise Fleet Management gave a presentation and packet to the Commission. He: stated most counties run vehicles too long, his company helps bylooking at thei fuel, maintenance, and vehicle itself, to be able to make the most ofthe vehicle, buti to know when it is time * to get rid ofthe vehicle while its still has some value. His company caters its plan to each county's individual needs. Chairman Coffey asked ift the results with the other counties that have signed up with the fleet program have been successful, to which Mr. Simpson replied yes, they have alll been great results. Commissioner Frost asked about any penalties due to selling vehicles or turning them in with a certain amount of mileage on the vehicle, Mr. Simpson replied there are no penalties no matter what the mileage may be on the vehicles. Commissioner Hoyte asked howlong they have been offering this program to other counties, Mr. Simpson said they have been doing this for 9- BLAIZEANGOL addressed his personnel issues about property tax concerns. His first concern was that his water wasn't clear and drinkable, and that the county should give out filters to everyone. His second concern isi that he wanted tol know where his property tax was going to. He stated that he doesn'tthink iti is lawfully right thati ifl he doesn't pay. his taxes that someone can, just come take his property.Attorney Bin Minter stated tol him that property taxes across the country are a way that local governments have revenue to pay for county services, there is a process, the' Tax Commissioner collects these taxes. Public Works Director Lou Beck stated thati the water is tested daily by Columbus Water Works, and we do have a CCR report coming out in June, it will be ini the newspaper. 10 years. OLDBUSINESS ATTORNEY on the agenda is the budget amendment, budget must bel balanced by state law. Typically, this is done before the audit is submitted. The amendment isn'turgent, iti is on the agenda for today, but after speaking tot the accounting director, Isuggest you table it until we clarify ai few numbers that came up today. Also, we don'tl know the status oft the audits from the state yet. Concerning the Cemetery update, fort thel bylaws, which are: more of rules and regulations, because the county owns the cemetery, his suggestion ist to amend the code ofordinances to add a section concerning cemeteries where the rules and regulations and add who can manage the cemetery. Ift there is a board appointed tot the cemetery, this should bei in the ordinance. We can County Manager updates, Mrs. Bickel gave the Commission Mr. Weavers updates, he is going to try tol help the departments) look internally: fori their budget amendments first, before we continue to request a budget amendment, hei is also] putting a trash receptacle at the cemetery along with maybel looking at ai flagpole. Public Works will also start blowing dirt off the road at the cemetery, until al better plan is formed. NEW BUSINESS ATTORNEY the Conditional Use Permits that were approved ati the last meeting, the letters notifying the applicants will go out this week. County Manager nothing on new business. Budget Amendments: Motion to table madel by Commissioner Biddle to accept the new fee schedule, seconded by Commissioner Douglas.
