JohnLangel Voice vote unanimously approved. 6) BUSINESS AGENDA a) Proposed millage rate; budget hearing schedule: Attorney Neill reported that the Budget Committee recommended a proposed millage rate of 1.8500 which represents a 16.15% increase over the rolled-back rate of 1.5928. The reasons for the increase were discussed. The Budget Committee also recommended that the first hearing date be Sept 4th, 2024, at 5:15 pm. Mr. Neill pointed out the necessity of having four board members in attendance for the final meeting which will not be set until the first meeting, but which will likely be on September 17, the Boards regular meeting date. MOTION: A motion was made to approve a proposed millage rate to 1.8500%. John Langel Roll call vote unanimously approved. d) Capital City Consulting Amendment: Mayor Thiess discussed the First,Amendment to the Lobbyist/Consultant Agreement. Mayor Thiess will contact the surveyor to have property lines marked. d) Joey Blandford stated that he was on board at the School and Anne Sinnott they purchased. does not make all decisions. 8) Treasure Coast Regional League of Cities/Florida League of Cities Report- Ingrid Van Hekken-Reported that the meeting in Okeechobee was very informative about Florida Conservation in cattle production ini the State of Florida. 9) St. Lucie School Report: Ann Sinnott reported upcoming Voting Tues Aug 20th, 2024 Divine Design removed at tree that a storm brought down on July 3d, 2024. Ingrid Van Hekken spoke of the necessity of renting the school for taking care of repairs and maintenance. 10) Attorney's Report: Attorney Neill reported that BOA that have not filed with the ethics board; that the With the resignation of Mr. Ritter, the Village Charter provides that the mayor, with the advice and consent of BOA appoints someone new. Attorney Neill suggested this is done asap. Perhaps, posting al Notice on the Village website and sending to all Village People emails. Request that interested parties to submit via letter why they would like to become a Board of Alderman.
