RESOLUTION NO. 2018-07 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH PASADENA, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 94-01 TO APPROVE THE ADDITION OF A JOB CLASSIFICATION OF CITY CLERK/ADMINISTRATOR AND ADDRESSING THE APPOINTMENT OF CARLEY LEWIS. WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission to spend more of its time and attention on significant issues affecting the city and less time on minutia; and WHEREAS, because Commission department assignments rotate every one to two years, a lack of consistency can hinder efficient long-term operations; and WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that more coordination between departments is in the best interest of the Commission and the city; and WHEREAS, the City Commission has decided that the creation of a City Clerk/Administrator position could promote better internal communication and collaboration to address and resolve issues more etticiently; and WHEREAS, the City Commission has decided to appoint the current City Clerk, Carley Lewis, to serve as the City lerk/Administrator based on her qualifications and the duties she is currently performing. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of South Pasadena, that Resolution No. 94-01 be amended to create the position of City Clerk/Administrator and that the position of City Clerk/Administrator shall be placed in the city's step pay plan, attached hereto marked as Exhibit A. The job description of City Clerk/Administrator is attached hereto marked as Exhibit B. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Carley Lewis is appointed as City Clerk/Administrator and shall immediately receive an increase of two steps with an additional step increase to be given on her anniversary date of October 1, 2018.
