SNEADS TOWN COUNCIL WORKSHOP SPECIAL MEETING MAY1,2023  The Town Council of the Town of Sneads, Florida, met in a workshop/ special meeting at the  Sneads Town Hall on May 1, 2023, at 5:00 p.m.  Mike Weeks called the meeting to order with the following present: Mike Weeks, Tony Money, George Alexander, Angela Locke and Donovan Weeks, Council Members  Daniel Cox, Attorney Lee Garner, Town Manager Sherri Griffin, City Clerk Danielle Guy, Deputy Clerk And the following were absent:  None  Police ChiefPosition. President Mike Weeks asked Attorney Cox ifthe committee had the recommendations for the position. Mr. Cox stated that the three individuals recommended were: Keith Deese, Brett Preston, and' Tyler Weeks. Mike Weeks asked what process they used to produce these names. Mr. Cox stated that these men are the only applicants that are certified in the State of Florida and that Town Charter states that the police chiefmust possess police powers ofapprehension. Therefore, these three were the only ones qualified at this time. Tony Money suggested that since all Council members were not present that we wait. Tony Money then made ai motion to table the Police Chief decision until May gth. George Alexander seconded.. Angie Locke voted nay, motion passed, 3-1. Mrs Locke stated that she wanted this decision made at the Mr. Garner asked ifwe were going to do interviews. All agreed to go ahead and vote at the next Ordinances. Attorney Cox presented the Council with Ordinances that were up for review for Muni Code. He stated that these Ordinances needed to be reviewed and decided on to update, keep, or get rid of.. All agreed to get started with the changes. Mr. Cox also stated that the Comp Plan needs to be updated with zoning and now would be the time to do it, since. Jackson County  next meeting.
