TMV CANASE MINUTES SPECIAL COMMISSION Friday, July 2, 2021 7:00 PM - Town Hall TOWN OF MELBOURNE VILLAGE I. Call to Order at 7:03 pm by Mayor Niemann II. Pledge of Allegiance by Mayor Niemann III. Roll Call Present was Mayor Niemann, Commr's: Murphy, McCharles, Anderson. Excused was Commr's Calenda and Jones. Also present was Town Clerk Collen, Superintendent Ward, Linda Crawford and Heather Roberts. IV.] Presentation by Linda Crawford CPA for the 2020 Financials. A. Live Oak Intersection: A briefre-order was commenced, and Superintendent Ward presented the engineering remarks and quotes he Motion by Commr. McCharles to hire Turnbaugh Construction'"t to commence and finish repair ofthe Live Oak intersection with a cost not to exceed $22,000. 2nd by Commr Anderson. After discussion it was determined the inspection would be completed by August 2021. Themotion received for the Live Oak intersection. approved unanimously. B. Linda Crawford: *Town has passed with an "unqualified" audit rating which is the highest remark it can be awarded. Ms. Crawford provided a few key remarks. *Police brought in approximately $63,000 in grant funds. *The Town had a $40,000 increase in expenses across the board. *Town did not receive the $250,000 grant money for the bridge but, will continue to work on avenues to obtain as much as it can. *The Town has a deteriorating financial condition. The Town will be looking at various ways to curtail spending while seeking fruitful investments. Motion by Commr. Murphy to accept the audit report as presented. 2nd by Commr. McCharles. Ms. Crawford provided a large financial prospectus. The motion approved unanimously. C.Crawford Accounting Invoice of$10,554.60 Motion by Commr. Anderson to pay Ms. Crawford $10,554.60 for her auditing services to the Town. 2nd by Commr. McCharles. After discussion the fee was determined to be discounted because ofMs. Crawford's utilization oft the Town copier. The Motion approved unanimously. V.
