RESOLUTION NO. 06-2023  A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF JUPITER INLET COLONY, FLORIDA FILLING A VACANCY IN THE OFFICE OF TOWN COMMISSION MEMBER; APPOINTING A VICE MAYOR; PROVIDING A CONFLICTS CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND AN EFFECTIVEDATE; AND FOR OTHERPURPOSES.  WHEREAS, on or about June 20, 2023, Milton Joseph Block, Jr. submitted a letter of resignation from his position as Commissioner (Seat 4) and Vice Mayor effective immediately;  and  WHEREAS, Article III, Section 13 of the Town Charter provides that a vacancy in the office ofCommission Member shall be filled by Resolution of the remaining Commissioners.  NOW, THEREFORE, BEING RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE  TOWN OF JUPITER INLET COLONY,FLORIDA THAT:  SECTIONI.  is hereby appointed to fill the office of  Commissioner (Seat 4) of the Town of. Jupiter Inlet Colony, Florida, to hold such office until the  next general election and until his/her successor shall be elected and qualified.  SECTION2.  is hereby appointed as Vice Mayor to  serve until the next organizational meeting of the Town Commission.  SECTION3. That all Resolutions or parts or Resolutions in conflict herewith be and the  same are hereby repealed.  SECTION4. Ifany provision of this Resolution or the application thereofi is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions or application of this Resolution, which can be given effect without the invalid provisions or applications, and to this end, the provisions of  this Resolution are hereby repealed.  1    SECTION5. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage.  PASSED AND ADOPTED this  day of  2023.
