RESOLUTION NO. 2024-06 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF JUPITER INLET COLONY, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO APPLY FOR GRANT FUNDING WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION TO ACCEPT STATE GRANT FUNDING THROUGH THE RESILIENT COMPREHENSIVE VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT; PROVIDING FOR WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection has announced the Fiscal Year 2024/2025 Resilient Florida Grant Program ("Program") for the purpose of providing grant funds to effectively address the impacts of flooding and sea level rise WHEREAS, these funds are made available for applications from counties, municipalities, water management districts, flood control districts and regional resilience entities for assistance to analyze and plan for vulnerabilities, as well as to implement WHEREAS, the Town of. Jupiter Inlet Colony ("Town") is eligible to apply for funding WHEREAS, the Town of Jupiter Inlet Colony ("Town") desires to apply for grant funding to conduct a' Town-Wide Comprehensive Vulnerability Assessment; and WHEREAS, the Town will be required to execute grant funding agreements for future planning and implementation Program grant funds, ifawarded; and WHEREAS, none of the requirements, restrictions, and/or obligations associated with the award of a grant under the Program, or the grant itself would negatively impact the FLORIDA PROGRAM TO CONDUCT A TOWN-WIDE AN EFFECTIVE DATE. within the State ofFlorida; and projects for adaptation and mitigation; and assistance under the Program; and interests ofthe Town; and WHEREAS, this will serve a valid public purpose. JUPITER INLET COLONY,FLORIDA, that: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COMMISSION OF SECTIONI: The above recitals are hereby incorporated into the body of this Resolution SECTION 2: The Town Commission of the Town of Jupiter Inlet Colony, Florida, hereby authorizes the Town Manager, or designee, to apply for funding with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for grant funds made available through the Fiscal Year 2024 Resilient Florida Program to conduct a Town-Wide Comprehensive and are adopted as findings of fact. Vulnerability Assessment. SECTION 3: The fully executed original of this Resolution shall be maintained by the Town Clerk as aj public record oft the Town.
