Adjournment FLORIDA, A9MUNIVERSITY Board of Trustees ACTION ITEM Minutes Thursday, February17,2022 Special Committee on the College of Law Subject: Special Committee on the College of Law Meeting Minutes Proposed Board Action: Approval of the Minutes Rationale: Section 5.10 of the Board of Trustees Operating Procedures provides that detailed minutes should be kept for any Board or Committee meeting. Those minutes should include a record of votes cast and attendance. Recommendation: Approve the Board of1 Trustees meeting minutes for September 15, 2021. FLORIDA AMUNIVERSITY Board of Trustees Committee Minutes September 15, 2021 Special Committee on the College of Law The Special Committee on the College of Law met September 15, 2021. The following committee members were present and established a quorum: Trustees Belvin Perry, Trustee Perry asked for a motion to approve the June 3, 2021 committee minutes. Trustee Lawrence moved approval. The motion was seconded by Trustee Harper and Next, Dean Keller shared that the College received more applications for admission than last year and that the credentials of the incoming class exceeded their goal. She also stated that the College awarded $184,000 in retention scholarships to students that completed their first year with a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or more. They also awarded upper level student who had completed their first year with a 3.0 GPA or better with retention scholarships as well. Dean Keller surmised that because of the increased number of retention scholarships for second year students, the College saw a sharp drop in the number of students transferring from the College to other institutions. Dean Kelier shared that the number of law students interning during the summer increased from 49 students in 2020 to 98 in 2021.
