Since the age of4, it was Blane' s dream to become a deputy, and in September of2020, he fulfilled that dream when he went to work for the Polk  County Sheriff's Office, and later became a deputy sheriff; and  WHEREAS, Blane's greatest experience in life was fatherhood. He expressed his appreciation for God blessing him with his wonderful children by proudly filling the role of able  provider, courageous protector, and loving guide; and  WHEREAS, Blane is a graduate ofl Mulberry High School where he played football and golf, and was active in FFA.His favorite past times included going to the shooting range, running, fishing, golf, football and baseball. The 2024 National Black History Month observance theme, as designated by the National Endowment for the Humanities, is "African Americans and the Arts"; and  WHEREAS, in 1926, Dr. Carter Godwin Woodson launched the celebration of National Negro History Week to be observed during the second week of February. This was to place it in proximity ofthe birthdays for Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass, two key figures ini the  fabric of African American History; and  WHEREAS, on the 50th Anniversary oft the observance of what would become known as Black History Month, President Gerald Ford expanded the commemoration from one week to one month. On February 11, 1986, Congress issued aj joint resolution to codify Black History Month into law. Presidents have continued toi issue guidance and proclamations during Black History Month recognizing and honoring the important achievements and contributions of  African Americans; and  WHEREAS, Fort Meade has blazed its own trail in Black History with the employment ofHarrison L.
