Second Reading and Second Public Hearing on the Proposed 2009 Tax Rate Action: Mayor Sexton opened the Public Hearing at 7:36 p.m. with the following statement and asked if any member of the public wanted to comment The City of Seagoville's current tax rate was adopted in 2008 at sixty-three and one-half cents ($0.635) per hundred dollar taxable valuation. The currently proposed tax rate is sixty-five cents ($0.65). The proposed tax rate is inclusive of Operations and Maintenance tax of $0.569798 and a Debt Service rate of $0.080202. Following this evening's public hearing, the City Council will inform the public that the second public hearing on the tax rate is set for September 3, 2009, and its subsequent adoption set for the September 17, 2009 Regular City Manager Denny Wheat provided an overview of the overall economy and the impact on the City's tax rate; including new and existing property values, sales tax history, fund balance, the City's effective tax rate, and tax rates in Action: There being no members of the public to comment on the Proposed 2009 Tax Rate, the Mayor closed the Public Hearing at 7:43 p.m. No other on the Proposed 2009 Tax Rate: City Council Meeting.
