Gtle MINUTES OF CITY COUNCIL REGULAR SESSION MAY17,2021 The Regular Session of the City Council of the City of Seagoville, Texas was called to order at 7:05 p.m. on Monday, May 17,2021, at City Hall, 702 N. Hwy 175, Seagoville, Texas with a quorum present, to wit: Dennis Childress Jon Epps Jose Hernandez Rick Howard Harold Magill Mike Fruin Mayor Mayor Pro Tem Councilmember Councilmember Councilmember Councilmember Absent The following staff members were also present: City Manager Patrick Stallings, Police ChiefRay Calverley, Community Development DirectorLadis Barr, City Attorney Victoria Thomas, Finance Director Gail French, Director of Administrative Services Cindy Brown, and City Secretary Kandi Jackson. Invocation - Invocation was led by Councilmember Magill. Pledge of Allegiance - Pledge of Allegiance was led by. Mayor Childress. Proclamation - Officer Memorial Week - Mayor Childress presented the Officer Memorial Week Proclamation. Police Chief Calverley thanked Council for their continued support of the Police Department. He also stated the Traveling Memorial Wall will be here the week ofJune 21, Mayor's Report - Mayor Childress stated Mr. Leon Love was a great pillar of our community Citizens Public Comment Period- This portion of the meeting is to allow each speaker up to six (6) minutes to address the council on items not postedont the current agenda. Council may not discuss these items but may respond with) factual data or policy information, or place the item on a future agenda. Citizens wishing to speak on posted agenda items will be called upon at that time. Receive presentation on the concept plan, renderings and/or budget for the design build of the new Police facility from Alan LaFon with Halff Associates (HalffAssociates) Halff Associates Senior Project Manager, Tim Lackey presented the concept plan, renderings 8. Parking Regulations on Specific Streets", by adding a new section 17.04.068 to provide for no parking on the north and south sides of the eastbound south U.S. Highway 175 Service Road, beginning approximately 835 feet from its point ofintersection with Malloy Bridge Road and extending eastward fora distance of approximately 786 feet to Water Street; authorizing the City Manager or his designee to cause the appropriate signage to be erected; providing a savings clause; providing for a severability clause; providing a penalty of fine not to exceed the sum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each offense; and providing an effective date (Director of Administrative Services) 5 Seagoville City Council Regular Session May 17,2 2021 Councilmember Fruin stated it was originally discussed to continue the no parking signs past Water Street. Director of Administrative Services stated this Ordinance provides for no parking signs up to Water Street but if Council wishes the Ordinance can be amended to continue no parking signs past Water Street. Afier some discussion, Council directed Staff to amend the Ordinance.
