Consider Resolution 40-09 Authorizing the Mayor to Sign a Contract for City Employees' Group Insurance Benefits. 3. Consider Resolution No. 41-09 authorizing the City Manager to initiate Text Change Amendments to the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance to Provide Definitions for Gas Stations, Gas Station with Convenience Store, Restaurant and Drug Store and Providing for an SUP (Special Use Permit) for Said Uses. First Reading and First Public Hearing on the Proposed 2009 Tax Rate Action: Mayor Sexton opened the Public Hearing at 7:35 p.m. with the following statement and asked if member of the public wanted to comment on The City of Seagoville's current tax rate was adopted in 2008 at sixty-three and one-half cents ($0.635) per hundred dollar taxable valuation. The currently proposed tax rate is sixty-five cents ($0.65). The proposed tax rate is inclusive of Operations and Maintenance tax of $0.569798 and a Debt Service rate of $0.080202. Following this evening's public hearing, the City Council will inform the public that the second public hearing on the tax rate is set for September 3, 2009, and its subsequent adoption set for September 17, 2009 Regular City Action: There being no members of the public to comment on the Proposed 2009 Tax Rate, the Mayor closed the Public Hearing at 7:48 p.m. No other the Proposed 2009 Tax Rate: Council Meeting. action was taken. Consider Resolution No. 37-09 Authorizing Dallas County to Sell the Property at 403 Washington Street Consenting to a Private Offer Received on the Tax Foreclosed Property at 403 Washington Street, Seagoville, Texas Cause No. Motion: Harold Magill made a MOTION and Carl Polnac SECONDED to Vote on the motion: Passed unanimously by a vote of 5 Ayes-0 Nays. in an Amount not to Exceed $20,000.00 - FIRST READING approve Resolution No. 35-09. 04-31677-TI, County of Dallas, et al VS. Sheri Kay Sowels, approve Resolution No. 37-09. CITIZEN COMMENTS 7. Sandra Rodgers, 206 Altom Road, addressed the City Council to thank Council and staff for their effort to improve the City. Ms. Rogers also thanked City staff for fixing the streets. FUTURE AGENDAI ITEMS 8. Future Agenda Items. Council Member Polnac asked that Michael Hinojosa, Dallas Independent School District Superintendent and Nancy Bingham, Dallas Independent School Board Trustee be invited to brief Council on the "State of the District."
