Giasaille MINUTES OF CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION AUGUST 20, 2018 The Work Session of the City Council of the City of Seagoville, Texas was called to order at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, August 20, 2018, at City Hall, 702 N. Hwy 175, Seagoville, Texas with a quorum present, to wit: Dennis Childress Jon Epps Jose Hernandez Rick Howard Harold Magill Mike Fruin Mayor Mayor Pro Tem Councilmember Councilmember Councilmember Councilmember The following staff members were also present: City Manager Patrick Stallings, Police Chief Ray Calverley, Community Development Director Ladis Barr, City Attorney Alexis Allen, Finance Director Patrick Harvey, Director of Administrative Services Cindy Brown, and City Secretary Kandi Jackson. A. Discuss Regular Session Agenda Items 1. Discuss and consider the appointment of two (2) members of the community to the Downtown Corridor Advisory Group (City Secretary) City Secretary Jackson stated the Downtown Corridor Advisory Group held the first meeting on August 14, 2018 with only. five (5) of the ten (10) appointees in attendance. She also stated Staff felt it in the best interest of the group to appoint two (2) alternates and the applications were provided to Council. 8. Direct Staff concerning the scheduling of Council Meetings for the month of September (City Secretary) City Secretary Jackson stated the first regularly scheduled Council Meeting. falls on the Labor Day Holiday and Staff recommended rescheduling both Council Meetings for September. However, afier speaking with Finance Director Harvey, it was confirmed that all budget requirements will be met on the Council Meeting scheduled for September 10, 2018. She also stated Staff is seeking direction, from Council to schedule only one Council Meeting on September 10, 2018. Seagoville City Council Work Session August 20, 2018 9. Approve Resolution No. 34-R-2018 ratifying the City Manager executing a Professional Services Agreement by and between the City of Seagoville and C&M Concrete, for the emergency repairs to a public street, to wit: Seagoville Road, on both sides of the street beginning at the 2300 block and extending through the 2800 block, in an amount not to exceed one hundred sixty-nine thousand, seven hundred twenty-eight dollars and twenty-eight City Manager Stallings stated there have been failures in the concrete work on Seagoville Road. He stated the issues became an emergency situation to have repaired. He also stated it was through an inter-local agreement with the City of Lancaster that the City of Seagoville was able to contract with CaMConcrete, for cents ($169,728.28) (City Manager) the repairs.
