CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL: MEETING JUNE 30, 2014 present, to wit:  The City Council held a special meeting on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. with a quorum  Dennis Childress Rick Howard Terri Ashmore Tommyl Lemond Bill Chambliss Peggy Day  Mayor Councilmember Councilmember Councilmember Councilmember Councilmember  The Invocation was provided by Councilmember Chambliss. Mayor Childress led the Pledge of Mayor Childress welcomed everyone including Dallas ISD Trustee Nancy Bingham. Mayor Childress presented aj plaque to Councilmember Day and thanked her for her service on  Allegiance.  the City Council.  CITIZENS PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD (items on the agenda).  Dwight Henneberger, spoke on behalf of Sergio A. Cantu, 2508 Kleberg Road - expressed his ITEM 1. Councilmember Chambliss made a motion, seconded by Councimember Lemond, to approve Resolution No. 34-R-14 canvassing results of the Run-off Election for the office of Councilmember Place 51 held on. June 21,2014. A vote was cast 5 for, Oagainst. ITEM2. City Secretary Crabtree administered the Oath of Office to elected Councilmember ITEM: 3. Councilmember Chambliss made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Ashmore, to approve Resolution No. 35-R-14 awarding bid to RT&E Rural Water Company in the amount of fifty-four thousand four hundred seventy-three dollars and sixty cents ($54,473.60) for construction of Kleberg Road 6" water line improvements; authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents; providing for the repeal of any and all resolutions in conflict; providing for severability clause; and providing an effective date. A vote was cast 5 for, 0  support of thel Kleberg Water Line project.  Place 5Jon Epps.  against.  ITEM 4.
