Markus Sandy - Friends of Elder Care Vice-President, Thanked City Manager, Cynthia Raleigh and Police Chief, Tobie Bias for visiting the Elder Care Center to speak to the center patrons. He also indicated that there werej job opportunities and board positions available at the center. 3. Budget Workshop: City Manager Cynthia Raleigh reviewed the proposed budget, goals, and capital plan for the 2022 - 2023 Fiscal Year for the City of Palacios, a. Councilmember Trainor expressed her idea of having the Police Department office open 6-8 hours per night, by non-police officer attendants, to assist citizens in possible distress. Councilmember Woolf b. Councilmember Dotson questioned whether the Palacios Police Department had competitive salaries compared to surrounding cities. City Manager Raleigh stated the Palacios Police Department salary is . City Manager Raleigh stated she is working with department managers toc create measurable budget goals for their departments. d. Councilmember Woolf questioned the Municipal Court budget. City Manager Raleigh indicated that there were reasons for the budget increase that she was not able to discuss at this time. Woolf also questioned the legal fee increase and asked if that was due to the current litigation. Raleigh stated it was. Woolf stated he hoped it was e.
