CALLTOORDER Mayor Gardner called the REGULAR City Council meeting to order at 6:02PM. CERTIFICATION OF A QUORUM Mayor Gardner certified a quorum was present. ANNOUNCEMENIS: 1. Mayor's Announcements - Mayor Gardner thanked everyone for attending, asked that everyone be prepared before they attend a meeting. The CityofPalacios will be live streaming meetings beginning on 11/17/22. Mayor announced upcoming dateso ofimportance. Planning and Zoning meeting is on November 09. Communily Thanksgiving at the Palacios community Hub will take place on November 16. Regular Council meeting will take place on November 17. Town Hall meeting will take place at the Sanford Center. from 4-7PM on November 29. City Hall will be closed for Veteran's Day on November 11. City Hall will be closed for Thanksgiving Holiday on Thursday the 24th and. Friday the 25th. PRESENTATIONS: i. Councilmember Chip Woolf gave aj presentation on Development Code Handbook Revision and Zoning outlining the progress ofa new comprehensive plan. ii. D.C. Dunham gave an update on thej future oft the Palacios Public Swimming Pool iii. Municipal CourtJudge Suzie Thompson gave an update on the progress the court iv. Sally Kurtz and Pam Oliver from the Palacios Chamber of Commerce informed Council and the public how the organization uses HOT funds to promote the City V. Katie Hutto - City by the Sea Museum gave her opinion about the possible demolition of the Luther Hotel and asked Council not to allow that to happen to preserve the history of ii. Donna Schulman - stated facts about the possible purchase ofthe Luther Hotel and urged the Council not to get involved in a private sale of the property. stating it would cost the iii. Paula Whitney Peaceful Pelican Bed and Breakfast Owner expressed concern with the amount ofi money it would take to bring the Luther Hotel back up to what it needs to be to be code compliant. Spoke highlyofthe. Ed Rachal Foundation and what they have done for the City of Palacios.
